Dear Friends,
Over 40 years ago, the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless opened its heart and doors to the unhoused in our community. Born into that effort was a culture of always examining how best to meet the responsibilities we assumed, and how to expand our impact in response to a growing crisis.
40 years later, while wearing the same name, we found ourselves looking like a significantly different organization: providing more and more shelter nightly; expanding into day services, street outreach, clinical services, case management, and family reunification; and developing lots and lots of housing programs. In sum, not only do we provide daily services to meet people’s urgent needs, but our relentless focus on housing has helped thousands of people find a road to ending their homelessness.
That’s why we are so excited to announce our new name and tagline, All Roads - Leading the Way Home.
We are excited because we have evolved into an organization that understands that anyone who is homeless needs our help and is determined to meet them where they are no matter what road they are on.
We are excited because it honors our long-held belief that if we serve 1000 individuals, we know they traveled 1000 different roads to find us.
We are excited because it evokes what we know: there are many roads out of homelessness, but they all lead to home.
And we are excited because, as the tag line suggests, we all need to be leaders and dedicate ourselves to providing our neighbors who are the most at risk the tool that works the best….
